City Manager

Larry Mitchell was hired as Lawton’s Assistant City Manager in June, 2002 and was hired as the City Manager on March 11, 2003.  Prior to his relocation to Lawton, Mr. Mitchell served as City Manager in Owasso, Oklahoma and Assistant City Manager in Okmulgee, Oklahoma.  Larry is originally from Bangor, Maine and served as the City Administrator for Saco, Maine from 1989 to 1999.  During his 30 year career in municipal government, Mr. Mitchell has also held positions in Community Development/Planning with the cities of Leavenworth, Kansas, Stillwater and Enid, Oklahoma.
