Area 2 Board Member

Helena John took her seat on the Lawton Board of Education in February 2007. She represents Area 2, which is made up of the Hugh Bish, Brockland, Crosby Park and Edison elementary school districts.

Mrs. John is a product of the Lawton Public Schools, having attended Pecan Grove Elementary, Tomlinson Junior High School and Eisenhower High School. She is an alumna of the University of California-Los Angeles.

Two of her children graduated from Eisenhower High School and currently attend Oklahoma State University. Two others currently attend EHS and a fifth child attends Crosby Park Elementary School.

She and her husband Brent (who attended Woodland Hills Elementary, Eisenhower Jr. High, Eisenhower High and Cameron University) own the Game King franchise in Lawton.

Mrs. John has been active in Lawton parent-teacher organizations for a dozen years. She currently serves as president of the Lawton PTA Council, and serves on the board of directors of the Oklahoma Parent-Teacher Assn. She is president of the EHS Football Booster Club, president of the EHS PTA and president of Eisenhower High’s alumni organization, Eagle Legacy.

She is active in the Junior League of Lawton, Business and Professional Women’s Club, P.E.O. and Dayspring Community Church.
